Beginning my spiritual journey

If you’re new around here, then hey, what’s up. I have been a firm believer in meditation for around ten years, but I have not ventured into other realms of new age spirituality. One of my personal goals for this year is to find out more about myself through self reflection. I also am striving towards a positive outlook on life that can reflect on those around me. I figured that since I was beginning this journey pretty much from scratch, I wanted to blog my journey so that maybe you can come along with me! This is the first post to what could be a couple, but let’s just start off here for now.

Let me preface this with the statement that I am not religious by any means. I studied Eastern religions for about eight years, and I would definitely identify with any of those before I would with a Western religion. Now that the elephant is out of the room, let’s talk.

I have always been interested in a sense of inner peace. I have not had the easiest route growing up, and I also have a big problem with anxiety as well as depression. By following many different bloggers, vloggers, authors, podcasts (you name it!), I decided to take the plunge this year. Learning about myself, as well as how others see me, is very important to me. I feel like it would make me a better individual not only to myself, but to those around me.

Trust me girl, I am going in as blind as you might be. I purchased the Soul Searcher’s Handbook by Emma Mildon last year, and I was very dedicated to reading it and learning more about the movement. As you can imagine, once school began, that went to the back-burner, and I hadn’t picked it up since.

Having purchased my first set of crystals, and wanting to know more about the actual process of utilizing their energy and the correct way to handle such things, I picked it back up. While on Amazon, I decided to add another book that focused more on my soul as well. Thanks to some recommendations, I picked up Light is the New Black by Rebecca Campbell, and girl, I love that woman. I read a chapter a day, and really feel like it is opening up my mind and heart. There will be a discussion about that book further along this journey, so keep your eyes out for that. Oh, if you want to know more about the Soul Searcher’s Handbook, then click this link right here, but I plan on including that in majority of my posts.

I ultimately want to go on this journey for myself, but also for you. Maybe you want to be part of the movement, but you just don’t know how, and you cannot find a resource to help you along the way. I will be creating posts as I discover more and more aspects, so I am right here in the trenches with you. I hope to see you again, and let’s get started!
